Dogs that were dead have been found inside a building in Hickory Wednesday, sparking an investigation.

Even the Hickory Police Department claims officers were also called to the 500 block of 7th Ave PL SW in reference to a suspicious motor vehicle. “Upon arrival, officers found multiple critters, some dead, within a building on the home,” authorities say.

Most of the over 30 dogs found were alive but not doing well. At least a few of the dogs were dead.

A vet technician says the puppies pit bulls, showed signs of malnutrition bite marks, and dehydration.

A person being questioned in event recently applied for a permit to have a kennel in the building. For those who would like to have over five dogs, there is a permit necessary back in Hickory. That permit had gone yet.

The dogs are gonna go to the animal shelter to be appraised. What will happen to the dogs following is unclear.

Anyone who has information is asked to call Hickory police.
